Stock records before you buy software
Many shops look for inventory software because they already feel the pain: items that should be there are not, or money is tied up in stock that does not move. Buying a system before you know what is on the shelf usually copies the confusion into a nicer screen.
A practical first step is a simple count of the products that matter most — the ones you sell every day, the ones that expire, and the ones that are expensive to replace. It does not have to be a full warehouse audit on day one.
Decide who is allowed to adjust stock. If anyone can change quantities with no record, the software will not save you. Ribdigi ERP is designed so adjustments, transfers and low-stock views sit with people who should actually do that work.
Expiry and barcodes only help if the products are set up with the details staff will scan or check. That setup is part of going live, not a switch that appears after you sign.
If you are not sure whether you need a full ERP or a tighter stock process first, say so in the demo. We would rather recommend a smaller, honest start than a system the team cannot keep up to date.
